About the artist

Judith Guild, based in Bristol, RI, is a coastal landscape painter working in oil and acrylic. Working 30+ years as a videographer for the ABC show Chronicle in Boston she traveled and viewed the world through a camera lens. Eventually the transition was made to putting paint on canvas. Her work is influenced by the majestic beauty of life along the coast, is impressionistic in style with loose brushwork and a constant feel of motion. She paints with a harmonious palette, creating a light-filled atmospheric mood of tranquility, while capturing the excitement of coast life and the daily drama of skies meeting the sea. Her work has been shown in local museums and galleries and can be currently seen at Main Street Gallery in Falmouth, Mass, New England Contemporary Fine Art in East Greenwich, RI and Commons Cottage Gallery, Little Compton, RI.
